Homer Graham Sr., 78, of Covington, VA, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014.
Mr. Graham was born April 18, 1936, at Alleghany County, VA, the son of the late Bowling Graham and Garnet Ward Graham.
Homer served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War. He was employed as a molder by the former H.O. Canfield before his retirement and was also employed by Bradley’s Sawmill, where he worked in the lumber yard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Burton Graham.
He is survived by one son, Homer Graham Jr. and wife, Nancy, of Glace, WV; two brothers, William H. Graham Sr. of Covington and Albert L. Graham and wife, Winnie, of Boynton Beach, FL; three sisters, Rose Pearl Hilton of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Kathleen Cook of Lewisburg, WV, and Elizabeth Thompson of Covington; three grandchildren, Daniel Vaughan, Bruce Vaughan, and Kayla Williamson and husband, Jason; and one great-granddaughter, Jayla Williamson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM on Sunday, July 27, 2014, from the chapel of the Loving Funeral Home in Covington with Chaplain John Almond officiating.
Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
Graveside rites will be conducted by Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Sizemore, David Honaker, Steve Byer, J.D. Richmond, Daniel Vaughan, and Jimmy Tucker.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 26, from 7-8:30 PM at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial tributes be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, WV 25801.
