Hermond W. Lilly, 84, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Ronceverte, WV.
Born December 31, 1929, at Lewisburg, he was the son of the late Raymond and Artie Lilly.
Mr. Lilly was retired from Bill Lewis Motors after 30 years of service in the detail shop. He was a Korean War veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart, Korean Service Bronze, and United Nations Service and National Defense Medals. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans since 1977 and the American Legion and the Senior Circle at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Armour Lilly; and sisters, Elva Woolard and Glena Gunn.
Hermond is survived by his wife of 62 years, Madeline Loudermilk Lilly; nieces, Catherine Sears of Lewisburg and Judy Stuart of Virginia; nephews, Frank Woolard of Lewisburg and Nicholas, William, and Timothy Gunn of California; and good friend and cousin, Linda Stidom and husband, Dale.
A Graveside service and burial with military honors will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Greenbrier Memorial Gardens in Lewisburg with Pastor Robert O. Hefner Jr. officiating.
