Bill Lewis Corker, 77, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg after an extended illness.
Bill was born March 4, 1937, at Meadow Creek, WV, to the late Everett and Margie Bowles Corker.

Bill loved West Virginia and its people and spent the majority of his life in Hinton, WV, and Lewisburg. He cared about the young people of the communities that he was part of as he was dedicated to youth football, baseball, basketball, and cheerleading.
Being a strong servant of Christ, Bill was always someone to lend a helping hand, give an encouraging word, and help anyone in need. Bill was a lifetime avid golfer, enjoyed bluegrass music, and loved being by the river. Professionally, Bill served 57 years in the insurance industry. As a result of his caring heart and out-going personality, Bill developed many strong friendships and relationships. He will be missed by all.
Bill leaves a strong legacy of friends, family, children, and grandchildren, who he has touched in many ways. Bill was a long-standing member of the First Baptist Church of Fairlea, WV.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Justine Corker Parrish. Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Leona Ballengee Corker; sons, Billy Corker and wife, Diane, of Shrewsbury, WV, and Jeff Corker and wife, Linda, of Roanoke, VA; daughter, Shelley Corker Tate and husband, Dave, of Waxhaw, NC; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Terri Corker of Franklin, TN; and one brother, Perry Corker and wife, Dee Dee, of Hurricane, WV.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM on Monday, July 14, 2014, at the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors located at 130 Temple Street, Hinton.
On Tuesday, July 15, friends may call at the First Baptist Church of Fairlea, 9232 Seneca Trail, Ronceverte, WV 24970, from 12-1 PM, followed by a celebration of life service at 1 PM at the church with Pastor Ronald Cobb officiating. A private burial will be held following the service.
Donations in Bill’s memory can be made to the Peyton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901. Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors is in charge of arrangements.
