Retired Master Sgt. Elizabeth “Beth” Caldwell, USAF, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in Gulf Breeze, FL. She was 54 years old.
Born in Union, WV, on December 29, 1959, she grew up in Lewisburg, WV, and graduated from Greenbrier East High School in 1978. She attended Glenville State College and entered the United States Air Force in 1981.
During her 23 years of service, she was awarded seven Commendation Medals, four of which were combat related, as well as the Joint Services Commendation Medal. She was named Outstanding NCO while deployed in a combat zone. She was deployed in many zones, many of which were combat related and some were classified. Deployments included, but were not limited to, Korea, Okinawa, Bosnia-Kosovo, Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Afghanistan.
