Barbara L. Freeny, 72, of Detroit, MI, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at her home.
Born October 31, 1941, in Zenith, WV, she was a daughter of Beatrice McMahan of Caldwell, WV, and the late Ira Lee McMahan.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two special nephews, Tracy Pack and Ronnie Wykle; and one special niece, Crystal Michelle Williams.
Along with her mother, she is survived by her husband of 52 years, Hastern Freeny Sr. of Detroit; two daughters, Crystal and Marie Freeny, both of Detroit; goddaughter, Veronica Bryant and husband, Deangelo, of Detroit; two sons, Hastern Freeny Jr. of Detroit and Jim Pierce of Wind Gap, PA; four grandsons, Jamie Pierce III of Wind Gap, Devante Freeny and Davon Freeny, both of Detroit, and Michael Butts of Detroit; two granddaughters, Daija Freeny of Detroit and Kelly Pierce of Bethlehem, PA; five sisters, Wanda Wykle of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Ruth Williams and husband, Robert, of Lindside, WV, Shirley Springston and husband, Tony, of Rock Camp, WV, Delsie Nicely and husband, Terrence, of Friars Hill, WV, and Georgia McMahan of Renick, WV; five brothers, Raymond McMahan of Renick, Dalford McMahan and wife, Kathy, of Rock Camp, Carl McMahan and wife, Debra, of Peterstown, WV, George McMahan of Caldwell, and Dale McMahan and wife, Jo, of Renick; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Wickline Funeral Home in Lindside with Pastor Art Jeronimo of the Lewisburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church officiating.
Burial will follow at the McMahan & Green Cemetery on Back Valley Road in Rock Camp.
Until Jesus resurrects her to meet him in the air at the second coming of Jesus.
