Despite Governor Jim Justice’s recent announcement that all West Virginia students will return to in-person learning on January 19, Fayette County Schools is moving forward with meal distribution.
Through a post on Fayette County Schools Facebook page, Director of Child Nutrition Andy Pense said, “Happy New Year! Since schools are on remote learning until January 15, we are providing seven-day meal packs at our schools and at key bus locations. The meal-packs will be distributed on Thursday, January 7. I would also like to remind you to please work with your children to complete all required assignments for their classes while they are in remote learning through January 15.
All parents and students can pick up a seven-day meal pack this Thursday from their school or at a bus distribution location.”
Bus distribution locations are the Kincaid Church of God, the Corner Grill at Pax, the Mt. Hope Fire Department, the Old Gatewood Elementary School, the Old Beckwith School, the Dollar General store at Danese, Adena Village and Old Falls View School. Pick-up times at all bus distribution locations will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
School pick-up schedules will be as follows: Fayetteville PK-8, Midland Trail High School, Ansted Elementary, Valley PK-8, Meadow Bridge Elementary/High School and Divide Elementary from 12: p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
New River Intermediate, New River Primary and Oak Hill High School from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Oak Hill Middle School from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. and Gauley Bridge Elementary School from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
