Year after year we see a lot of the same people who donate to Penny Pitch. I recognize the names who are so loyal to this program in our list each day. I am so thankful for everyone who makes Penny Pitch happen every year.
Each year I also recognize names in the obituaries that have always donated to Penny Pitch and I hope there are new people that will replace them to help us make children’s Christmas wishes come true in our community.
If you are looking for a organization that will help local families and that is tax deductible, Penny Pitch can use your help.
Children everywhere, including our own community, are getting more excited as we get closer to Christmas Day. The excitement builds as Christmas nears, and each child tells Santa what their wish is for Christmas. We are so thankful for your generosity, so these children will have something from Santa under the tree on Christmas morning.
This is what Penny Pitch does for families, it lets children know they haven’t been left out and that Santa didn’t forget them. These children didn’t choose their situations and cannot help themselves. This is why we need to help; no child should wake up on Christmas morning without a toy under the tree. They try to understand when the parents tell them there is no money to buy Christmas presents, but it is still very devastating for a child not to receive anything for Christmas.
A lot of families are in this situation this year, with parents losing their jobs or having their hours cut. A toy just means everything to these children. Your donation makes this happen for local children. We are trying to help as many families as money will allow, for each child to wake up to a toy under the tree.
Penny Pitch is operated here in Greenbrier County by local people who donate their time to keep this program operating year after year.
This is the 53rd year for Penny Pitch to help local families in need. All the money you donate goes back into our local community to help people in need. We can use your help to reach our goal this year. Please send your donation to Penny Pitch, P.O. Box 494, Lewisburg, WV 24901; or you can drop it by The West Virginia Daily News office.
Total donations received to date: $43,744.00
