LONGANACRE
Vivian C. Longanacre, 88, of Lewisburg, died Friday December 4, 2020 at the Peyton Hospice House after a brief illness.
Vivian was born September 12, 1932 in Morgantown to the late Harry Ray and Louie (Brown) Mossburg.
She was an Army wife who spent time in Germany and the Panama Canal Zone, in addition to many assignments in the United States. She and her late husband, Lt. Col. Ret. Louis Longanacre, retired and settled in Lewisburg where Louis grew up. She was active in the community and worked at Jackson’s store in Lewisburg until it closed. Vivian was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) holding several positions within the group. She was also a member of the Lewisburg Lioness organization for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, and her daughter, Charlotte K. Longanacre, both in 2014.
She is survived by her son, Edwin R. Longanacre of El Paso, TX; her daughter-in-law, Maureen Longanacre, of Sinks Grove, WV; her grandson, Benjamin Longanacre, and his wife, Sarah, of Sinks Grove, WV; her grandson, Michael Longanacre, of Lafayette, LA; and her two great-grandsons, Trevor and Cayson of Sinks Grove, W. Her devoted dog, Ashley, will miss her.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the wonderful care teams at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center and Peyton Hospice House.
Due to the current restrictions on gatherings, there will be no service at this time. She chose to be buried in Morgantown, WV at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens with all arrangements made by McCraw Funeral Home of Lewisburg.
A memorial service will be held later, when it is safe for all to travel and attend.
McCraw Funeral Home in Lewisburg is in charge of the arrangements.
