LEWISBURG (WVDN) – The Greenbrier County Commission held its December monthly meeting on Dec. 6. Commissioners Tammy Tincher, Michael McClung and Lowell Rose were all present and conducted the regular financial business of the month including 13 estate closures.
Terradon Engineering submitted an invoice for consulting and cost of boundary and topographic survey services for the health department expansion and remodel totaling $12,200.
There are two parcels involved, and the charges were reflective of that — two charges of $3,100 for the topographic survey, two charges of $900 for locating underground utilities and $4,200 for outside boundary survey. The total was a little more than the Commission had expected because of the double plot issue.
A subrecipient grant was made between the Greenbrier County Commission and Public Service District no. 2 for the use of funds in their expansion of water service in the western part of the county. American Rescue and Recovery Plan Act (ARRPA) funds from 2021 will be used to extend public water from Charmco to Rainelle and from Sam Black Church to Clintonville, Alta and Asbury.
In other business, the Greenbrier Broadband Project for Quinwood is moving forward with Thomas and Litton consultants, and monthly expenses were submitted for July, August, September and October planning and technical services. As the broadband project goes forward, a request for proposals is being made by the Commission to determine interest from area law firms in providing the expertise in this field. Local newspapers will carry the advertisement.
