Ho, ho, ho!
We hope you all have been good boys and girls because Santa Claus is coming to the West Virginia Daily News.
We have high hopes of bringing good cheer to the community this holiday season with our community food drive for the whole month of November and our Santa visit on Thursday, Dec. 1, from 4-6 p.m.
Remember, if you subscribe to the Daily News, your carrier will pick up donated food drive items from your paper box on the following Mondays: Nov. 14, 21 and 28. We are collecting nonperishable food for the entire month of November. Items can also be dropped off at our office at 188 Foster St. in Lewisburg, Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and on Fridays from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
Then, on Dec. 1, the whole community is invited to the Daily News to meet Santa. Parents are welcome to bring their cameras to take photos. Children will receive up to three gifts — one for each of the following: a colored-in picture of Santa from page 8 in today’s paper (and look for it in coming editions), a nonperishable food item, and/or a completed Kid Scoop page from the most recent paper (hint: Kid Scoop runs on Mondays).
Here at the office, elves are already busy decorating for Santa’s visit. While whether we’ll have a white Christmas remains to be seen, Santa is going to make his way here one way or the other on Dec. 1.
We hope to see you here, and we thank you for supporting our community this holiday season.
