LEWISBURG (WVDN) – Thursday was a tough day for Woodrow Wilson in Fairlea-the East girls cross country team defeated their rivals by a tight margin in the afternoon, and that evening, the Spartan men’s soccer team took down Woodrow to become Class AAA Region III Sectional champs on their new soccer field.
A goal from Adam Seams finished the game 2-0, while goalkeeper Joe Cochran kept the Flying Eagles from scoring.
The Spartans, now 18-2, will now face George Washington (who defeated them in the regular season 3-0) in the Class AAA Region III championship at the YMCA Paul Cline Memorial Youth Sports Complex on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at 5 p.m. in Beckley.
