LEWISBURG (WVDN) – The 36th annual Taste of Our Towns (TOOT) festival takes place Saturday, Oct. 8, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Thousands of residents and visitors from across the region gather on the streets of historic downtown Lewisburg to sample delicious food from local restaurants, civic clubs, and nonprofit organizations.
But TOOT is much more than a food festival. In addition to food vendors, the festival also features entertainment stages, children’s activities, traveling performers, and much more. The shops in downtown Lewisburg are also open during the day and participating businesses will have selected TOOT items available that will benefit Carnegie Hall.
This year’s fundraiser will also feature a few new twists. An arts village featuring work and demonstrations by Carnegie Hall teaching artists will be located on Church Street. Carnegie Hall has obtained a waiver of the open container ordinance from the city of Lewisburg. Local craft and spirits business will be on hand. Selfie stations will be available at multiple locations. The Mountain Transit Authority (MTA) will provide shuttle service from north of Lewisburg (location to be announced). The biggest difference to some will be using tickets instead of tokens, though past tokens will be accepted this year.
There is still time to sign up to be a TOOT vendor, but registration ends Sept. 15. To register visit www.carnegiehallwv.org/taste-of-our-towns and complete the online TOOT 2022 Vendor Registration form. Booth location preferences are fulfilled on a first come, first served basis. Carnegie Hall reserves the right to decline an application or to require alternate food selections.
Boxwell Solutions is the 2022 Taste of Our Town (TOOT) title sponsor. Greenbrier Valley Automotive and Greenbrier Valley Medical Center are bronze sponsors.
Carnegie Hall WV is a nonprofit organization supported by individual contributions, grants, and fundraising efforts such as TOOT and The Carnegie Hall Gala.
