ALDERSON (WVDN) – The first ever Kids’ Back to School Celebration at will be held at the Alderson Community Market on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
Elizabeth Spangler will hand out school supplies from the Greenbrier Valley Literacy Fund and donations from members of the community.
Chris “Sparky” Hopsin will be the musical guest, and there will be space set aside for dancing
The Carrot Club will have healthy food tastings for kids, and there will be many activities at the market this week, including croquet, hula hoops, jump rope, bouncy balls, cornhole and more.
Special guests from Alderson Elementary School kicks off at 4 p.m. with teachers from the school to greet and spend time with the children who attend, to welcome them back to school.
The pop-up kitchen will be open with hamburger sliders and fresh baked cookies made with locally farmed ingredients will be on the menu
The market will have fresh produce, fresh meats, fresh eggs, fresh breads and pastries, local honey, art, crafts, jewelry, and Tupperware that’s sold to benefit the Alderson Public Library.
