WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS (WVDN) – The White Sulphur Springs Public Library and local White Sulphur businesses are honoring the life of Katherine Coleman Johnson with a StoryWalk.
This family friendly activity will be available to the public at all times from Tuesday, Aug. 23-Tuesday, Aug. 30.
The StoryWalk will feature the book “One Step Further: My Story of Math, the Moon and a Lifelong Mission” written by Katherine Johnson with her daughters, Joylette Hylick and Katherine Moore. Pages of the book will be displayed in local businesses’ windows. Families are encouraged to enjoy a stroll through town while reading the pages of the book.
To read the story, visit each local business in the following order: Village Square WSS; Walls Fine Art Gallery; Lee’s This & That; Paws Spa; Greenbrier Glass and Mirror; Tootsie’s Place; Green River Academy; Pinoy Store; ACE Hardware; Beards & Bangs; Crimson Boutique; Mountaineer Gun; Sweet Cedar Soap Company; and Barnwood Living.
Then, cross the street and pick up the rest of the story at Road Hogs Barbeque; Cross Creek Café; The Local Wine Shop; Sugar Bears; and Hammer Cycles.
Additional material is also posted at Gillespies Flowers and Productions and at the White Sulphur Springs Library.
The StoryWalk Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vt., and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
