WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS (WVDN) – The Old White Garden Club met Tuesday, July 26, at 6 p.m. at the home of club member Julie Fine.

Twenty members were in attendance. Following refreshments, provided by Julie Fine and her daughter Elizabeth Wirts, Penny Fioravante opened the meeting with prayer.

Mary Collins read the report concerning the success of 37th Greenbrier Valley Home and Garden Tour. Sue King thanked the members who had volunteered their homes/buildings for the tour.

Collins announced that Old White Garden Club will be in charge of the 2024 home and garden tour, and she recommended that the club update the post card used during the tour and have more printed to continue to support the reinvigorated White Sulphur retail district.

Sara Crickenberger is interested in becoming a club member and she was unanimously welcomed.

The 2022 Taste and Tell, a longtime delicious fundraiser for the club, was discussed, and the event was left in the capable hands of Mardi McMillan and Suzanne Cronquist. All committee memberships will remain the same for 2022/2023 as for the previous year.

Joan Gunnoe has been a member of Old White Garden Club since 1958. In recognition of her participation and guidance, King presented Joan with a Life Member pin and a certificate. Thank you to Gunnoe for her years of service to the White Sulphur Springs community.

The August meeting will be the annual picnic to take place at 6p.m. at Paisley Park in White Sulphur Springs, on Tuesday, Aug. 23.
