WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS (WVDN) – If you grazed social media this past weekend, you may have noticed that the Greenbrier East Class of 1987’s 35-year reunion was the place to be.
Comments and pictures flooded the Facebook page with nothing but positive words and reactions. Everyone was smiling and seemed to be thankful for the opportunity to reconnect with their friends and classmates from years ago.
Tammy Quick organized the get-together and gave a rundown of all the happenings, stating she was grateful for the whole evening.
“We had approximately 45 classmates, but we lost count after a while. Some brought guests and some came as single. Big Draft Brewery was the venue with James Sharp DJ’ing. We celebrated by eating, socializing, dancing, honoring our classmates that have passed and making memories. There was a lot of laughing and smiles and catching up with classmates,” Quick said.
Although the turnout was great, the ones that could not make the trip were definitely missed by the ones that did.
“The turnout was great, though we missed those who didn’t come for whatever reason. Big Draft did an amazing job with our food and setting up the room for us,” Quick said.
As for the 40th reunion in five years, Quick said after the fun that was had at number 35, something would definitely be “brewing” for number 40.
“Of course, we all said we hoped to do it again in five years in 2027. I guess we will see. The class of ‘87 is a wonderful class. I’m sure something will be planned,” she said.
