LEWISBURG (WVDN) – Darris Boswell, Gavin Bennett and Jake Roshau all were named to the honorable mention all-state team on Wednesday night, June 15.
Boswell was a main cog in East’s wheel and led the team in hitting at .317. He had 33 hits, five doubles, 21 RBIs and two triples. He led the Spartans in multiple hitting categories.
Boswell also stepped on the pitcher’s mound when called upon. He went 65 innings and also had 65 strikeouts. He finished 3-3 with a 3.23 ERA.
Bennett was second only to Boswell with a .315 average and 29 total hits. The sophomore also hit five doubles, belted two home runs and drove in 17 more.
Roshau, the number one pitcher, finished on the mound pitching 69.1 innings on the season. He scattered 65 hits and struck out 76 batters. He was 6-3 with a 3.13 ERA. At the plate, Roshau finished with 16 hits on the season and 17 RBIs.
