BLAKE
Denver L. Blake, 78, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away June 13, 2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital with his wife and son by his side. Denver knew the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and was ready to go to his new heavenly home to meet his Lord.
Born May 12, 1944, in Esty, WV, he was the son of the late Layton and Clara Blake. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Clark; two brothers, Murrel and Roger Blake; and a sister, Lela Ingram.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Patricia Blake; son, Shannon L. Blake (Mary Lou) of Lewisburg, WV; grandchildren, Eric, Spencer, Stephanie, and Sara; great-grandchildren, Raelynn, Madilynn, and Gunner.
Denver enjoyed hunting and the outdoors, but most of all spending time with his family and being faithful in church and serving the Lord. He attended the Lewisburg Baptist Church, formerly Calvary Baptist Church, for over forty-five years.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2022, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, 252 Montvue Drive, Lewisburg, WV, with Pastor Jonathan Comer and Pastor Chuck Peters officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Rosewood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Denver would want donations to be made to the Lewisburg Baptist Church, 246 Grand Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.
