The weekend of June 17-18, celebrate the rebirth of White Sulphur Springs with the Dry Creek Music and Arts Festival on Main Street in White Sulphur Springs. A joint production between Cross Creek Hospitality, 50 East, and White Sulphur Springs Rotary, the weekend will include live music, art, local food, spirits, and brews, and activities for the kids.
“We gather to celebrate the incredible post-flood rejuvenation of White Sulphur Springs,” say event organizers in a press release. “This rebirth is the shining example of what can be accomplished with cross-sector collaboration. With businesses, local government officials, philanthropists, and volunteers all working towards a common goal, the community has been transformed.”
The weekend festival includes concerts and events Friday and Saturday throughout town, kicking off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday with a New Orleans-style jazz funeral parade from The Schoolhouse Hotel to Big Draft Brewery Stage for a show. On Saturday, Main Street will be closed from 12-6 p.m. for some of the best regional artists and craftspeople to display their paintings, jewelry, pottery, photography, glassware, and more. Organizers also welcome live performing artists throughout the afternoon, as well as activities for the kids.
Admission to the festival is free.
Additionally, hosting businesses, have generously agreed to donate a percentage of their sales that day to the Greenbrier Valley Family Activity Center (GVFAC) Fund hosted by the Greenbrier Valley Community Foundation. Led by a volunteer committee in partnership with the city of WSS and West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, the GVFAC will create a modern investment in the health of our community through youth, senior, recreational, and wellness programming. The 29,000 square foot facility at Dick Gunnoe Memorial Park will include indoor and outdoor basketball courts, an indoor soccer field, batting cages, indoor pickleball and volleyball, and indoor walking track, among other amenities. The goal of the GVFAC is to make the Greenbrier Valley the healthiest community in West Virginia. Construction will begin this summer.
