A shooting in Whitesville has led to a murder charge for a Rock Creek man.
According to information provided by the West Virginia State Police, on December 30, at approximately 11:30 p.m., members of the West Virginia State Police responded to a reported shooting at Terry’s Café in Whitesville.
During their investigation, it was discovered that Kevin Scott Dickens, 53, of Rock Creek, fatally shot Jeremy Peters, 41, of Whitesville, after engaging in a physical fight.
Dickens fled the scene, but was later located in Raleigh County and taken into custody by members of the West Virginia State Police Special Response Team.
Dickens has been charged with murder and is currently at Southwestern Regional Jail.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
