One victim was found inside a home that burned in Beckley on Christmas Day.
According to Beckley Fire Captain Ernest Parsons, the call regarding a fire at the home, located along E Street, came into the department at about 6:20 p.m. on December 25.
Two Assistant State Fire Marshal’s arrived on scene shortly after the fire was extinguished to help with the initial investigation, Parsons stated. There was one victim located in the house; however, a name is not being released pending family notification. The body has been sent to the medical examiner for an autopsy.
At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown and still under investigation, Parsons said.
