Gingerbread houses, numerous floats and a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus were just some of the attractions at the annual Beckley Christmas Parade on Dec. 4. The theme of the parade was “Gingerbread House Christmas.” Hundreds of parade-goers lined the streets in uptown Beckley to watch as the parade traveled by.
Although the parade may be over, there are still some Christmas themed events to attend before the big day on December 25.
According to information provided by Beckley Events, the following events are still planned to finish out the Christmas season:
-12/7 – Painting with Sarah at the Raleigh County Library;
-12/10, 11 and 12/17-18 – Fright before Christmas, The Resort at Glade Springs;
-12/11 – Sensory Santa at the Youth Museum, 11 am-2 pm, for children with disabilities, $5;
-12/14 – Silent Night, Deadly Night Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre at Historic Black Knight with the Beckley Police Department Alumni, $50;
-12/17 at 7 pm and 12/18 at 6 pm – HGTA Theatre Group presents “Motown Christmas” at the Raleigh Playhouse and Theatre, $10, call 681-228-0373 or 304-938-7549 for tickets;
-12/18 – “A Christmas Carol” Dinner Theatre at Historic Black Knight, 7 pm, $60 person, $100 couple, $400 table, fund-raiser for Theatre WV;
-12/18 – Christmas with the Rat Pack, The Resort at Glade Springs, $50.
