A plea hearing for a Beckley man indicted on child pornography charges is scheduled for Friday.
According to court documents, Dakota Lee Anderson, 24, will appear before U.S. Federal District Judge Frank W. Volk on December 3.
The indictment against Anderson, filed in federal court on September 23, states that on May 13, 2020, he transported computer graphic images and videos containing child pornography involving prepubescent children “which had been shipped and transported in and affecting interstate and foreign commerce.”
Then, on June 5, 2021, Anderson “did knowingly threaten to engage in conduct which would cause bodily injury to another person,” the indictment continues. The indictment adds that Anderson attempted to retaliate against “R.S.” for providing information to a law enforcement officer.
Anderson has been charged with one count of transportation of child pornography, one count of possession of prepubescent child pornography and one count of obstructing justice by retaliating against a witness.
He is currently at Southern Regional Jail. His plea hearing is set for 11:30 a.m.
