A Greenbrier County man was arrested during the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 3 after allegedly being found to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana. Jonathan Wayne Ferrell, 41, of Charmco has been charged with possession with intent to deliver.
Shortly before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, while on patrol on Mill Creek Road, officers with the Rupert Police Department performed a traffic stop on a black Nissan Altima after observing a faulty driver’s side brake light on the rear of the vehicle. While examining the male driver’s information, officers further observed the man “stuffing a baggie down the front of his pants.”
According to the criminal complaint, officers “then removed said subject from the vehicle and located a clear small plastic bag containing what appeared to be crystal meth from the front of (driver’s) pants.” The driver further stated that the methamphetamine was purchased at the home of Jonathan Wayne Ferrell.
Officers obtained a search warrant for Ferrell’s home which was executed at approximately 12:19 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3. The complaint states that, while searching the residence, officers located “$876.00 in U.S. currency, small plastic baggies, digital scales, approximately 14.8 grams of meth and approximately 15 grams of marijuana.”
While in police custody at the Rainelle Detachment, both Ferrell and his wife reportedly admitted that Jonathan Wayne Ferrell had been selling methamphetamine and marijuana from their home for sometime, and that he was doing it “to make extra money.”
Jonathan Wayne Ferrell is currently being held at Southern Regional Jail in lieu of $12,000 cash-bond or surety.
