NEMCIK
John R. Nemcik, 84, of White Sulphur Springs passed away October 22, 2021 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Ronceverte.
He was born January 11, 1937 in Youngstown, OH and was the son of the late John Joseph and Ann Nadzam Nemcik.
John was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in White Sulphur Springs. He was an Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Covington, VA and an avid bowler. John had been the communications director for the federal government at the bunker at the Greenbrier Hotel.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alderman Nemcik, in September 2020.
John is survived by his children: daughter, Cheryl Shaffer and her husband, Jeff of White Sulphur Springs; son, Joseph “Joey” Nemcik and his wife, Mary Page of Lewisburg, son, David Nemcik of White Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Hallie Nemcik, Coriann Nemcik, Cody Shaffer, Carli Shaffer, and Jacob Reveal; sister, Elaine Nemcik of Youngstown, OH; brother, Robert Nemcik and his wife, Dorothy of Youngstown, OH; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in White Sulphur Springs with Father Jim Conyers officiating. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery, Mt. Loretto Cemetery.
The family will receive their family and friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Church.
Those wishing to attend are asked to wear masks and social distance themselves.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Nemcik, Michael Nemcik, Gary Nemcik, Cody Shaffer, Jake Reveal, and Will Roark.
