A Pocahontas County woman was arrested on the morning of Monday, Sept. 20 in connection with an August altercation involving her husband. Jenette Lee Brown, 39, of Marlinton has been charged with domestic battery.
On Tuesday, Aug. 17, officers at the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Department were notified of an alleged altercation at a Marlinton residence. Upon their arrival, they were advised by a male victim that “he was just attacked by his ex-wife, Jenette Brown.”
According to the criminal complaint, “(the victim’s) ex-wife, Jenette Brown, came to his house and put her hands on him, scratching his torso and ripping his shirt. He had told her to leave and she continued to hurt him. He told her that he was calling the police and she left before the police could arrive.”
Although now divorced, the victim previously resided together while married, and share a child. Law enforcement has previously responded to the residence on three separate occasions in response to domestic altercations.
The criminal complaint further states, “There had previously been a domestic violence protective order in place, prohibiting Jenette Brown from contacting (the victim), but it had expired on August 17, 2021,” the day on which the latest incident occurred.
Jenette Lee Brown is currently being held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $3,000 surety/cash bond.
