PARKERSBURG- A wet Saturday brought a full day of activity for Greenbrier West seniors Dominic Mandeville and Jesse Walkup, who went from competing in cross country to marching with the Marching Cavaliers at Southern Thunder at PSHS.

For the two seniors, October 3 meant representing Greenbrier West in two different uniforms.

After taking on the rain and slick conditions on the cross-country course, Mandeville and Walkup joined their fellow band members for the next part of their busy day. Their participation in both activities highlights the commitment it takes to balance athletics and music. Each requires practice, endurance, and teamwork, along with a willingness to show up when conditions are less than ideal. That dedication extended throughout the Marching Cavaliers as they took part in Southern Thunder.

The event gave the band an opportunity to represent Greenbrier West and showcase its hard work. For Mandeville and Walkup, the day also added another memory to their senior year.

From the racecourse to marching alongside their bandmates, the two made the most of a Saturday filled with Cavalier commitments.

Rain may have made the day wetter, but it did little to dampen the pride of representing the blue and gold. Results from Southern Thunder will be available at a later time.
