NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONVEYANCE OF UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY

(WESLEY CHAPEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH)

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after September 24, 2026, QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to the Carroll Hill Cemetery Association, all of their right, title and interest in and to the following piece or parcel of land in Frankford District of Greenbrier County, West Virginia, and described as follows:

That certain piece and parcel of land and all the improvements thereon and all the appurtenances thereunto belonging in Frankford District adjoining the lands of Goheen Yates and others known as the M. E. Church’s “Carroll Hill Church” property containing 2 acres previously known as the “Old Carroll Church”, and is shown on Tax Map 8 at Parcel 37 of Frankford District and is assessed in the name of Wesley Chapel Church.

AND BEING the same property conveyed from L. W. Squires and S. Emma Squires, his wife, to the Trustees of Wesley Chapel M. E. Church of the Baltimore Conference South by Deed dated May 11, 1901 and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Greenbrier County, West Virginia in Deed Book 57, at Page 44, reference to which is hereby made.

ALSO BEING the same property conveyed from the Trustees of the “Carrol Hill Church” to L. W. Squires by Deed dated December 5, 1893 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 47, at Page 212, reference to which is hereby made.

SAID Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church was declared closed effective December 15, 2025 by resolution of a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
