COVINGTON, Va. (WVDN) – Covington resident Josh Anglin is currently putting his endurance to the test as he attempts to break the Guinness World Record for the longest marathon ten-pin bowling session.

The idea for the record attempt began with a conversation at the bowling alley where Anglin and his managers were looking through Guinness bowling records. After finding what they believed to be the toughest challenge, Anglin decided to pursue it.

Preparing for the attempt required more than time on the lanes. Anglin spent weeks improving his physical conditioning by running regularly and making healthier food choices to build the stamina needed for the marathon event.

Before the attempt could begin, Anglin had to complete the official Guinness World Records application process. His application was reviewed to ensure the attempt met all required standards. Once approved, Guinness issued an official approval letter outlining the rules for the attempt and the deadline for submitting all required documentation and evidence after the event.

The record attempt is being conducted under Guinness World Records guidelines, with detailed documentation collected throughout the marathon to verify every requirement is met.

As Anglin continues his pursuit of the world record, he said the support he has received has been just as important as the preparation. “Without any of my friends, family, community, none of this would have been possible,” Anglin said in closing.

As of press time, Josh had completed 275 games over 58 hours, he will need to make it to 135 hours or more to take the title.
