CHARMCO- Greenbrier West standouts Brilee Redden and Brooklyn Adkins both helped lead the Lady Cavaliers to the Class A state tournament this season where they won just their second state tourney game in school history. Both were also integral in the first win ever, last year.
For their senior year efforts, both girls were selected to the Class A all-state first team.
Adkins, a catcher, batted .468 with four doubles, three triples, two home runs, and 35 RBI. She also stole 21 bases.
Redden re-wrote the West softball history books and finished as the all-time leader in strikeouts from the circle and home runs from the plate (20). She earned all-state honors as an infielder after hitting .558 with 13 doubles, six homers, and five triples. She stole 24 bases. Redden is likely–and arguably– the most decorated player in the sport in the school’s existence.
Redden will attend WVU Tech next year and play softball and Adkins has plans to head to San Antonio, TX.
