Shirley Ann Humphrey

Shirley Ann Humphrey, a dedicated professional and cherished family matriarch, passed away peacefully at her home in Lewisburg, WV, on April 12, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on January 12, 1950, in Springfield, VA, Shirley’s life was marked by devotion to her career and an enduring commitment to her family.

A graduate of Springfield High School, Shirley embarked on her professional journey with roles at Fort Savannah and the Bank of White Sulphur Springs before joining Hodges Appraisal. Demonstrating remarkable entrepreneurial spirit and expertise, she ultimately founded her own company, Seneca Appraisals, establishing a legacy of professionalism and leadership in her field.

Beyond her notable career achievements, Shirley was known for her warm and nurturing personality. She embraced the comforts of home life, finding joy in tending to her yard and garden, cooking, baking, and ensuring that those around her were well cared for. Her greatest happiness came from spending quality time with her family, particularly her grandchildren, whom she deeply cherished.

Shirley’s family was the cornerstone of her life. She shared 55 years of marriage with her devoted husband, Charles Humphrey. They are survived by their three daughters: Tracie Humphrey; Rene Wolfe and her husband, Cory; and Suzanne Baker and her husband, Bart. Shirley was also a beloved presence to her grandchildren, Mac Brackenrich, Mallorie Brackenrich, Myka Lambert and her fiancé, Ty Brown, Kendall Wolfe, Carson Black, and Cooper Wolfe; as well as her great-grandchildren, Ava Brackenrich and Oliver Brown. Her extended family includes her brother-in-law, Hubert Humphrey and his wife, Kay; and her sister-in-law, Brenda Campbell and her husband, Gene.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Sigrist and Frances Spears Sigrist, whose memory she honored throughout her life.

Her passing marks the conclusion of a life characterized by diligence, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family. Shirley Ann Humphrey’s legacy will continue through the many lives she touched, both personally and professionally. She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Peyton Hospice House, 1265 Maplewood Avenue, Lewisburg, WV 24901.

There will be a private family service later.

Online guestbook can be signed at www.morganfh.net.

Arrangements entrusted to Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV.
