Paperwork still has not been signed due to CSX needing to relocate employees who use the depot as their home location. The city has been in talks with CSX to look for other locations. Pack and City Administrator Pam Mentz would be granted the authority to be in talks to look for other locations, which would, in turn, need city council approval. Motion to approve was granted.

Recently, the Homeowners’ Association requested that the city begin to maintain those roads and the lights, as they have had some difficulties doing it themselves. The motion for Pack and Mentz to be granted authority to enter into an agreement with Totten Circle. Motion was approved.

The council tabled a motion for the weekly flea market to return to Island Park this spring. Pack mentioned the city would need to take a look at the layout of the flea market to make sure everything is good. The new mini golf course will be opening, and the pickleball courts, too, possibly, and the city wants to make sure there will be plenty of room for parking and for the businesses to operate because of the anticipated crowd sizes.
To demolish the old Elementary School building, the cost could be around $250,000.00, which has been requested. Everyone has floated ideas on what to do with the property, such as making it a residential area which was discussed. Encouraging people to want to move and live in Ronceverte is a possible top priority when discussing the ideas.
Officer Larry Anderson is in his eighth week at the police academy, per Officer Hopkins. He is expected to graduate sometime in April.
There is an Easter egg hunt at Island Park scheduled for April 4 from 3-5 p.m. Different sections of the park will be used for different age groups. The Easter Bunny will be present and has expressed excitement about being available for pictures with the kids in attendance. Normally, members of Ronceverte Baptist Church do the egg hunt, but could not do so this year, so some Ronceverte citizens stepped up to have it this year.
According to Pack, once the weather breaks and the warm temperatures appear to be here to stay, the pickleball court construction will continue and get moving along.
