LEWISBURG W.Va. (WVDN) — Greenbrier County Schools has scheduled registration events for families enrolling children in Pre-K or Kindergarten for the 2026–2027 school year.

The first registration event will take place on Tuesday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at New River Community & Technical College’s Lewisburg Campus in the Ann & Kyle Fort Arts & Sciences Building. A second session will be held on Wednesday, March 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Western Greenbrier Middle School, 315 Timberwolf Drive, Crawley.

“We love meeting our new families, and these registration days are such a great way to get everyone started on the right foot. Our goal is to make the process simple, welcoming, and stress-free. We’re excited to help our youngest learners take this first big step,” said Nancy Hanna, Associate Superintendent.

Eligibility

  • Kindergarten: Children who will be five years old before July 1.
  • Pre‑K: Children who will be four years old before July 1.

Students who are already enrolled in a GCS Pre‑K program will automatically be enrolled in kindergarten at their home school district. Parents of currently enrolled GCS Pre‑K students do not need to attend one of the registration events.

Parents and guardians should bring:

  • Birth certificate
  • Immunization record
  • Proof of residency
  • Custody papers, if applicable

More information is available under the Enrollment section at greenbriercountyschools.org. Families may call 304-647-7105 for Pre-K questions or 304-647-6470 for kindergarten assistance.
