Charleston, W.Va. (WVDN) – Joined by members of the State Senate, Dr. Michael Antolini, a local physician and businessman, officially filed to run for the West Virginia State Senate in District 9, which covers Raleigh, Wyoming, and part of Fayette County.
“I have officially entered the race for State Senate because we need a voice for people who choose to stay in Southern West Virginia and are dedicated to our district and our state: young professionals, parents, small business owners, those who are investing here and have a vision for what our area can become. As a small business owner in tourism, I want to create jobs, improve our economy, and make life more affordable. As a physician, I care not just about patients, but about the overall health of our communities. As a parent, I want to help shape the region we call home so that our children have more opportunity to build legacies here that last.” said Antolini.
Antolini is currently president of the West Virginia Osteopathic Medical Association and a leader in graduate medical education. He has spent the last decade working on the front lines of patient care, advocating for better healthcare access across southern West Virginia, and teaching the next generation of doctors. He serves as medical director for several award-winning skilled nursing facilities and as a physician in a federally qualified health center, where he provides care to families, seniors, and underserved populations in Fayetteville, WV.
In addition to his medical career, Antolini is the co-owner of a thriving hospitality business in Fayette County, where he manages a portfolio of cabins that attract visitors from across the country.
A lifelong West Virginian and resident of Raleigh County, he and his wife, Anna, are raising their four young children. For more information about the campaign, please visit antoliniforwv.com.
