CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVDN) — West Virginia State Parks officials today announced that a series of state-park-branded bourbons produced by Smooth Ambler will soon be available to purchase at select retailers across the state.
The Lewisburg-based distillery has partnered with the state parks system since June 2023 to offer a private label of its famous Old Scout bourbon for the restaurants and lounges at Cacapon Resort, Canaan Valley Resort, Pipestem Resort, Blackwater Falls, Chief Logan, Hawks Nest, Stonewall Resort and Twin Falls Resort state parks. The expanded collection builds on this successful collaboration and features labels for Audra, Blennerhassett Island, Cass Scenic Railroad, Coopers Rock, Babcock and Lost River state parks.
“We are genuinely proud and excited to continue our partnership with Smooth Ambler,” said acting State Parks chief Dillard Price. “This collaboration allows us to bring a truly unique and high-quality offering to our valued state park guests, further enhancing the memorable experiences they expect when visiting our beautiful state parks.”
The new line of bourbons will be available to purchase at select retailers around the state in the new year. The original line will continue to be available exclusively at their respective lodge restaurants.
“We are pleased to honor our state parks with special labeling that showcases the natural beauty and spirit of West Virginia,” said Andrew Robinson, Smooth Ambler’s blending and processing manager. “We hope folks will enjoy our hand selected bourbon as much as they enjoy exploring the trails and nature in our state parks.”
The partnership with Smooth Ambler highlights West Virginia State Parks’ ongoing commitment to supporting local producers and creating new opportunities to showcase the state’s natural beauty. Each bottle in the collection features a custom park label designed to celebrate the landscapes and experiences that make these parks beloved destinations for residents and visitors alike.
