FAIRLEA, W.Va. (WVDN) — The Kiwanis Club of the Greenbrier Valley, in partnership with Wendy’s in Fairlea, will host a festive Holiday Fun Night on Thursday, December 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The event invites families to enjoy a cheerful evening of holiday activities while supporting the Club’s mission of serving children throughout Greenbrier County.

Families attending the event can participate in a free holiday craft for kids, where Kiwanis members will help children create a festive keepsake to take home. The Club is also hopeful that Wendy’s corporate team will be able to send the beloved Wendy character (costumed employee) to join the celebration and greet families.

During the event hours, 10% of all restaurant sales—both dine-in and drive-thru—will be donated to the Kiwanis Club of the Greenbrier Valley, supporting the organization’s future service projects and youth initiatives.

Mission-Driven Partnership

Chartered in 2023, the Kiwanis Club of the Greenbrier Valley is dedicated to improving the lives of children locally and fostering community engagement. The Club leads a variety of hands-on service efforts throughout the year, including initiatives that support literacy, wellness, and access to essential resources.

“Our mission is simple—serve the children of the Greenbrier Valley,” said Marsha Christian Shaver, Board Member of the Kiwanis Club. “Holiday Fun Night gives families the chance to enjoy time together while helping us expand the projects that make a meaningful difference for local kids.”

Wendy’s shares that commitment to strengthening local communities. As a company with a long-standing tradition of supporting families and youth-focused organizations, Wendy’s regularly partners with nonprofits to enhance opportunities for children. Their collaboration on Holiday Fun Night reflects their dedication to creating positive, family-centered experiences and giving back to the people who live and work in the communities they serve.

Supporting Kiwanis Service Projects

Funds raised during Holiday Fun Night will support the Kiwanis Club of the Greenbrier Valley’s ongoing service projects and community initiatives. One of the Club’s continuous efforts is literacy outreach, focused on making sure children throughout the region have access to books that encourage learning and growth.

The Club collects new and gently used children’s books and distributes them across the Greenbrier Valley. Volunteers stock Free Little Libraries throughout Greenbrier County, helping ensure that books are easily available to children and families at no cost. Guests attending Holiday Fun Night who wish to contribute may also bring children’s book donations to the event, and Kiwanis members will be happy to collect them.

“Every child deserves access to books,” the Club shared. “Our literacy work is just one example of how Kiwanis strives to create opportunities for children to thrive.”
