CALDWELL W.Va. (WVDN) – According to a criminal complaint, on Nov. 29, an officer was dispatched to a call for domestic violence in the vicinity of Caldwell. The criminal complaint stated that the caller reported hearing the accused, later identified as Garrett Feury, tell the victim he was going to put his hands around his neck. The caller said Fuery sounded angry when he made the comment.
When the officer arrived on the scene, he spoke with the victim, who allegedly said that Feury had been “acting crazy” since he went into his bedroom with his girlfriend. The victim also reportedly said the girlfriend had been living with them. He also allegedly told the officer that Feury wasn’t supposed to be around the girlfriend.
The officer then made contact with Feury, who was advised that he would be detained for the officer’s safety. The officer reported he needed to be able to speak with the victims without Feury there.
Greenbrier County 911 reportedly confirmed that Feury was out on bond and was to have no contact with the girlfriend.
When the officer returned to his patrol car, where Feury had been placed, he saw that Feury had gotten his handcuffs to the front and was smoking a cigarette. This cigarette reportedly caused smoke damage to the police cruiser.
At the time of publishing, Feury is not listed as an inmate in Southern Regional Jail.
