A “Boil Water Advisory” has been issued for the Entire Water System (including Renick and Ronceverte).
During boil water advisories you should boil all water used for drinking, preparing food, beverages, ice cubes, washing fruits and vegetables, or brushing teeth.
In the event that boiling is not practical, please consult your local public health authority (Greenbrier County Health Department at 304-645-1539) or other responsible authority who may direct you to disinfect the water using household bleach, or to use an alternative supply known to be safe.
Crews are working diligently to correct the inefficiencies in the pumping system. At this time there is no estimation of when the boil water advisory will be lifted.
The boil water advisory will be lifted once it is determined that known or potential contaminates are no longer affecting the safety and welfare of customers. The same outlets used for issuing information to customers on the initiation of the Advisory will be utilized to let customers know that the Advisory has been lifted.
