WILLIAMSBURG W.Va. (WVDN) – Blue Jeans and Country Dreams is the theme for the Williamsburg Community Fair this year. On Thursday evening, exhibits for food, photos, flowers, painting, quilts, crochet, needlework, vegetables, eggs and others are to register from 6-8 at the community building. For a complete list of exhibit categories, visit the website www.WilliamsburgWV.com (events). Anyone may exhibit, and there is no fee or preregistration.
Friday evening from 5-8, enjoy hot dogs, BBQ, baked beans, and play bingo (6-8) for just $1 a game. Daubers will be available for purchase for $1, or bring your own. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy listening and dancing to Cody Wickline, who will provide the music in the firehouse starting at 7:30.
Start your Saturday 8-9:30 a.m. with breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, eggs and more. Then visit the Thrift Shop (old school house) open from 9-11:30 for a $1 everything bag sale. Then step out their doors and view the parade that begins at 10:30 (parade line up and registration is 8-9:45, judging at 10). Everyone is invited to be part of the parade.
Following the parade enjoy lunch at the concession stand in the community building, vendors, Health Screenings, cruise over to vintage and hot rod car show at cruise-in, play games ( most are free!), visit fun stations, play dime pitch, make crafts, jump in the bouncy house, climb a rock wall, have an animal made from balloons, face painting, hair tensil, enjoy cotton candy, Dippin Dots, popcorn, or try your hand at our horseshoe tournament, and corn hole tournament.
Outdoor entertainment under a tent will be a great afternoon. Bring your chair and relax while listening to Ben Hersman and the Sons of the Mountains at 12:00-1:30, go inside and listen to Midland Trail Band from 1:30-2:30, and go back under the tent to listen to Will Sarver from 2:30-4.
Beginning at 2 p.m., there is a free paint party with Sandy Schmocker, painting a turtle (limited to 20), organized games at 2:45 for all ages, followed by the cool down from the traditional fire truck spray.
In the evening, enjoy bingo again at 4-6, followed by a ham dinner from 4-7. A dance concert begins at 7 p.m. with The Goodson Boys in the firehouse bay. Cap the night off with fireworks beginning at 9:30.
