MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University men’s basketball coach Ross Hodge has announced the signing of Amir Jenkins to a grant-in-aid for the 2025-26 season. Jenkins, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound guard from Worcester, Massachusetts, will be a freshman at WVU. He is listed as a Top 75 recruit in the class of 2026 and Top 100 recruit in the class of 2025 by numerous scouting services.

“We are excited to have Amir join our program,” Hodge said. “He has all the qualities you look for in a point guard. He has great intangibles, has won everywhere he has been and makes everyone around him better. Amir is a connector who fits perfectly with what we want from our student-athletes.”

Jenkins won back-to-back Massachusetts Division I state championships at Worcester North High School as a sophomore and junior before transferring into Worcester Academy. In his junior year, Jenkins helped North to a 24-0 record. Jenkins was named the 2023-24 Massachusetts MaxPreps Player of the Year after he averaged 13.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.6 steals per game.

Last year, he led the Hilltoppers to the NEPSAC Class AA Championship, winning MVP honors after scoring 17 points and had a pair of steals in the final minute in the title game. For the season, Jenkins averaged 21.7 points with more than three assists and three rebounds per game.

Jenkins played AAU basketball for BABC.
