FAYETTEVILLE W.Va. (WVDN) – Fayetteville’s “Sweets of the East” Rafting Team Seeks Community Support for World Championship Dream

A local whitewater rafting team, the “Sweets of the East,” based in Fayetteville, has achieved a remarkable feat by qualifying to represent the U.S. at the 2025 World Rafting Championships. The prestigious international competition is set to take place in Bariloche, Argentina, this November.

Comprised of talented women, the “Sweets of the East” are now faced with the significant financial challenge of making their international dream a reality. To cover essential travel, gear, and competition expenses, the team has launched a GoFundMe campaign with a goal of raising $10,000.

So far, the campaign has garnered $245, highlighting the need for widespread community support to help these dedicated athletes compete on the world stage.
