RAINELLE W.Va. – Greenbrier West High School (GWHS) is collecting flood cleanup supplies for delivery to the Five Loaves & Two Fishes Food Pantry in Kimball, McDowell County, on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
A collection trailer has been parked at the Ace Hardware in Rainelle since Friday, Feb. 21. GWHS students and volunteers were on hand to accept donations from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, and from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23. Donations will also be accepted during normal Ace Hardware business hours. The goal is to fill the trailer by Tuesday, Feb. 25.
The following items are needed:
5-gallon buckets with lids
Disinfecting wipes
Bleach
First aid kits
Sleeping bags
Baby wipes
Cleaning cloths/rags and shop towels
Heavy-duty contractor bags
Cleaners
Floor scrub brushes and mops
Brooms and dustpans
Lysol
XL body wipes
The school is not accepting clothing donations. Financial contributions can be made payable to Five Loaves and Two Fishes Food Bank or Beckley Area Foundation (Specify: McDowell County Fund).
