SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WVDN) — Experience the thrill of winter at Blackwater Falls State Park, home to the longest sled run on the East Coast. Having opened on Dec. 19, 2024, the sled run invites visitors to race down more than a quarter mile of fresh mountain snow. This family-friendly attraction is the perfect way to create cherished memories and enjoy wintertime fun.

Skip the Line, Purchase Online
Tickets for the sled run are valid for one two-hour session and can be purchased in advance at wvstateparks.com/blackwater-falls-sled-run. To redeem an online purchase, print your email confirmation or save it to your smartphone and present it upon arrival. While same-day tickets are not available online or by phone, a limited number may be purchased on-site at the sled run. However, it is recommended that due to the sled run’s popularity, tickets be purchased in advance.
Pro Tip: Arrive at least 20 minutes early to attend a safety briefing and prepare for your session. Be sure to dress warmly for the crisp winter wind and snow!
