Lewisburg Postal Service workers Nathan Good (pictured) and Bernie Holliday are once again challenging each other and other postal workers to see who can go the longest wearing shorts all winter.
For the last several years Good and Holliday have shared the award; both lasting all winter. The duo has also challenged their colleagues in White Sulphur Springs but still have gotten no takers, according to officials from the Lewisburg Foundation who is sponsoring the event.
While the challenge is ongoing the participants are raising money; you can make your check to the Lewisburg Foundation “for Postmans’ Pants.” Or you can give it to your mailman to deliver.
The winner of the contest is the mailman that wears shorts to the latest winter date possible. Further, 50% of all raise proceeds go to a charity of the winning mailman’s choice and the other 50% to the Lewisburg Foundation.
“We love their enthusiasm for this bit of winter tomfoolery,” said TAG Galyean, Lewisburg Foundation Board of Directors president.
So far the contest has raised several hundred dollars and is still ongoing.
“There is still time to contribute and also for another cold spell,” Galyean said.
