Wanda Estelene Pence, age 78, of Ronceverte, WV, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020, at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV.
Born on March 30, 1941, in Union, WV, she was the daughter of Stewart and Nancy Reynolds Ward.
Wanda had worked as a secretary for Scotty’s Tire, and was a loving and caring homemaker. She enjoyed tending to the house and cooking for her family, whom she loved dearly. Wanda was also a member of the Mt. Alexander Church in Sarton, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph G. Pence; half-sister, Virginia Miller; and niece, Debbie Dunbar.
Survivors include one son, Tommy Pence of Ronceverte; one daughter, Tammy Ramsey (Jeff) of Sinks Grove, WV; one brother, Richard Ward (Patty) of Union; three grandchildren, Crystal Byer (Rusty) of Ronceverte, Beth Herbert (George) of Caldwell, WV, and Wesley Surface (Victoria) of Fort Leonard Wood, MO; eight great-grandchildren, Tracee Byer, Ben Lane, Kenna Lane, Cora Smith, Sonny Herbert, Brooklynn Surface, Dewey Surface, and Peyton Boger; two nieces, Renae Bradley of Sinks Grove, and Sandy Arthur of Union.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2020, at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, with the Rev. Hughllyn Wilson and Wayne Weikle officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Alexander Church Cemetery in Sarton.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 13, 2020, from 1 p.m. until time of the services at the funeral home.
