New businesses in White Sulphur Springs, Ronceverte, and Union could be exempt from more income taxes than they realize; local CPA Larry Ickes approached the White Sulphur Springs City Council last week to explain new tax rules around federal opportunity zones and potential exceptions for new businesses located within them.
In 2018, White Sulphur Springs, Ronceverte, and Union were approved as opportunity zones, a federal program that provides tax breaks for some businesses.
