ATHENS, WV (WVDN) – Concord University is pleased to host the opening day of the 7th Annual Small Communities, BIG Solutions Conference being presented by The Alliance for the Economic Development of Southern West Virginia, The HUB, Coalfield Development, and Generation WV on November 20-22. The conference will be focused around creativity of West Virginia and connecting about issues that matter with the theme “Creativity, Connection, and Collaboration.” Each day will offer unique sessions, speakers, and collaborative opportunities, including panels on entrepreneurship, workforce development and problem solving. Over the course of three days, the conference will be held at Concord University, Downtown Princeton at Mercer Street, and the Chuck Mathena Center.
On day three of the conference, the Power of Performance Awards winners will be announced. The awards are to recognize those who are doing something remarkable in Southern West Virginia. The nomination categories include: 1) Putting people to work, 2) Revitalizing communities, and 3) changing lives.
