Mary Martha Bennett, 86, of Alderson, WV, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2019, at the Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg, WV.
Born on April 25, 1933, in Sinks Grove, WV, she was a daughter of the late Johnnie and Myrtle Burns Forren.
Mary was a lifelong member and custodian for 31 years at the Flat Mountain Missionary Baptist Church. She was also a loving wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by six siblings, Ada Burns, Basil Forren, Wilbur Forren, Eva Forren, Tom Forren, and Juanita Morris.
Mary is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dewey Milton Bennett; daughter, Brenda Hunter (Rick) of Ronceverte, WV; son, Larry Bennett (Evelyn) of Glace, WV; six grandchildren, Jeremy Bennett (Amy), Shane Bennett, Aaron Street (April), Kaitlin Loux (Aaron), Bethany Hunter (fiancé Jack Emery), and Olivia Hunter; eight great-grandchildren, Destiny Bennett, Trista Bennett, Hadley Bennett, Gage Bennett, Peyton Street, Noah Street, Preston Loux, and Emilia Loux; sister, Frances Osborne of Rainelle, WV; three brothers, Edwin Forren of Bedford VA, Robert Forren and Donald Forren, both of Parkersburg, WV; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at the Lantz Funeral Home in Alderson, with Pastor Randy Burdette officiating. Burial will follow in the Alderson Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be members of the Flat Mountain Missionary Baptist Church.
