One fatality in Hardy County crash

HARDY COUNTY W.Va. (WVDN) – One person lost their life in a vehicle accident in Hardy County. The West Virginia State Police released the following statement:

“On Saturday, August 31, 2024, at approximately 7:51 pm, Corporal C.S. Hartman of the Moorefield/Petersburg Detachment responded to a single-vehicle crash on South Fork Road, in Hardy County.

“Upon arrival, Corporal Hartman observed a single vehicle, overturned and positioned on its top, over an embankment. The vehicle was traveling North on South Fork Road when it crossed the centerline, ran off the road and over the embankment.

“Firefighters and EMTs on scene advised there was a single deceased occupant entrapped within the driver’s seat which did not appear to be wearing a seatbelt. The victim identified as twenty-eight-year-old Aaron Judy of Moorefield, WV suffered extensive injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. This crash investigation remains active and ongoing.”
