Virgil Eugene Riddell, 52, of Frankford, WV, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 27, 2019, at the Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV.
He was the beloved son of Audrey Riddell of Alderson, WV, and the late Roy “Butch” Riddell.
Virgil was a dedicated employee of WestRock in Covington, VA, and genuinely enjoyed the work he performed and the relationships he built throughout his career there. His family and friends will remember his witty personality, infectious smile, and kind demeanor for years to come.
Virgil was an exemplary father, son, and friend, and will be greatly missed by everyone fortunate enough to have met him.
He was the loving father of Jamie Angel Riddell (Dustin “Dusty”) and Courtney L. Riddell-Ringstaff (Anthony “AJ”) of Fairmont, WV. He was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first grandchild, expected April 2020.
Virgil is survived by his sister, Carla L. Bradley (Thomas “Tommy’); and his brother, Michael D. Riddell, of Alderson. Virgil also had many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and co-workers; and a loyal companion, Maggie, whom he loved dearly.
A celebration of life will be held at the Lewisburg National Guard Armory, 635 Industrial Park Rd., Lewisburg, WV 24901, on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at 12:30 p.m. A memorial service speech will start at 1:30 p.m.
